Homeownership Program

The Law Project works with HUD-certified housing counseling agencies to provide pro bono attorneys for first-time home buyers. If you want to participate in the Law Project’s Homeownership Program, you must be referred by a HUD-certified housing counseling agency.  Start by contacting an agency on the HUD Housing Counseling Agency List.

Legal services under the Program are available through the Law Project if your income is at or below the amounts on the chart below, which is based on 80% of the Area Median Income.

  • 1 Person – No more than $42,200
  • 2 Persons – No more than $48,250
  • 3 Persons – No more than $54,250
  • 4 Persons – No more than $60,300
  • 5 Persons – No more than $65,100
  • 6 Persons – No more than $69,950
  • 7 Persons – No more than $74,750
  • 8 Persons – No more than $79,600
